WHEN:  Friday and Saturday, April 20 - 21, 2012

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION and PAYMENT:  March 11, 2012

WHERE:  Bishop Claggett Center, Buckeystown, MD

The Retreat Committee is planning a program that will help you grow spiritually and deepen your faith as you join with other women to explore what it means to live in closer relationship with God.  Take time to break away from the busyness and burdens of everyday life.

BALANCE IN A BUSY WORLD

Luke 10:38-42 tells a story of two very different sisters.  Mary and Martha have nearly opposite personalities, characteristics, and - in response to the arrival of Jesus in their home - actions.  As Christians it's easy to find ourselves caught in a tug-of-war as we strive to worship like Mary, yet handle the busyness and pressures of the day like Martha.  Inspired by the book "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World" by Joanna Weaver, the Women's Spring Retreat program will help us understand how God's plan of intimacy with Him can be balanced with His leading to serve others.

We will explore ways to cultivate an intimacy with the Lord and keep Him in the center of our lives.  Work and worship are two sides of our Christian life.  But when they become out of balance, our works will be unfruitful, our motives impure and our lives unfilled.  Looking to Scripture, we can find help in achieving this balance.
